Our History

In 1981, Geoff Castles, a seasoned electrician with prior experience in industrial boilers, founded the company alongside his wife, Carole Castles. The humble beginnings saw the duo operating the business from their home in Carnmoney, Co. Antrim, utilising their garage as a makeshift headquarters. Geoff kickstarted operations with the company’s first official van that previously served as second-hand post-office van, embodying the resourcefulness that characterised the company’s early days.

As the company gained momentum, the growing fleet of vans prompted a relocation from Geoff and Carole’s family home in Carnmoney to Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim, near the towns iconic castle. Despite initial hurdles, the move signalled a pivotal moment in the company’s trajectory. By this juncture, the workforce had expanded to include ten dedicated individuals.

In 1986, Gary Castles (Geoff and Carole’s son) joined the company, bringing his expertise to the sales department. Approximately twenty years ago, Gary played a key role in acquiring the current offices located in Carrickfergus, a testament to the company’s commitment to growth and stability.

Two decades ago, recognising the potential for expansion, the company established an office in Cork, further solidifying its presence in the market. Today, the company boasts a fleet of 35 vans and a team of approximately 60 skilled professionals. This evolution underscores the enduring legacy of Geoff and Carole Castles, their commitment to quality service, and the continued success of the company they built from the ground up.
